Important Equine Extension information

Handmade to Order

All Secret Styles Mane & Tails extensions are individually handmade to order. Please allow up to 7 working days for your order to be created and dispatched, although many orders may be completed sooner.

Colour Matching

Every effort is made to accurately match your horse's colour using the information and photographs provided. As hair is a natural product, slight variations in shade, texture and appearance may occur.

Package Weights

All extension package weights are approximate and may vary slightly due to the handmade nature of the product.

DIY Installation

Our DIY extension packages are supplied with detailed fitting instructions to assist with installation. Secret Styles Mane & Tails accepts no liability for incorrect fitting, damage caused during installation, or results achieved when fitting is carried out by anyone other than Secret Styles Mane & Tails.

Maintenance & Longevity

When correctly installed and maintained, extensions can typically last between 3–6 months. Longevity will vary depending on your horse's lifestyle, grooming routine, stable management, rubbing, field conditions and aftercare. Secret Styles Manes & Tails takes no responsibility for the length of time the extensions last.

Horse Welfare

The comfort and welfare of your horse should always be the priority. Extensions should be checked regularly and removed if they become loose, damaged, tangled or cause any signs of discomfort.

Results

As every horse has different hair quality, thickness, growth patterns and lifestyle factors, individual results may vary. Photographs displayed on this website are examples of previous work and are not a guarantee of identical results.

Returns

Due to the bespoke, handmade and customised nature of our products, extensions made specifically to your horse's requirements are non-returnable unless faulty upon receipt.

Product Use

Products supplied by Secret Styles Mane & Tails are intended for equine cosmetic enhancement only and should be used in accordance with the fitting and aftercare guidance provided.

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 28 August 2026

Secret Styles ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data when you visit our website, book a salon appointment, or purchase from our shop, in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, please contact us using the details in Section 10.

1. Who We Are
Secret Styles is a boutique salon based in Little Tring, offering human hair services and equine mane and tail extensions, along with an online shop for equine hair products. We are the “data controller” of the personal information described in this policy.

2. What Information We Collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
Contact details — name, email address, phone number, postal address (e.g. when you make a booking, place an order, or contact us).
Order and payment information — items purchased, delivery address, order history, and payment confirmation. Card details themselves are handled directly by our payment processor(s) (which may include Wix Payments, PayPal, or Stripe) — we do not store your full card details on our systems.
Booking information — appointment dates, service preferences, and any notes relevant to your hair or equine extension service.
Account information — if you create an account on our Wix-powered shop, such as your login details and order history.
Technical data — IP address, browser type, device information, and pages visited, collected automatically via cookies and similar technologies (see Section 5).
Communications — messages you send us via our contact form, email, or social media (Instagram/Facebook).

3. How We Use Your Information
We use your personal data to:

  • Process and fulfil orders, including arranging UK delivery of equine extension products.

  • Manage and confirm salon and equine service bookings.

  • Respond to enquiries and provide customer support.

  • Maintain our website, shop, and any customer accounts.

  • Meet our legal and accounting obligations (e.g. tax records).

  • Improve our website and services based on how visitors use the site.

We do not currently send email newsletters or marketing emails. We do promote our services and post updates via our Instagram and Facebook pages — if you interact with us there, that activity is also governed by those platforms’ own privacy policies.

4. Our Legal Basis for Processing
Under UK GDPR, we rely on the following legal bases:
Contract — to process orders and bookings you make with us.
Legal obligation — to keep records required for tax and accounting purposes.
Legitimate interests — to maintain and improve our website and respond to enquiries, where this does not override your rights.
Consent — where you have given specific consent, such as for optional cookies.

5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Our website is built on the Wix platform, which uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember your cart, and gather basic analytics about how visitors use the site. Some cookies are essential for the site (like our Shop and Cart) to function; others help us understand site usage.

You can control or disable non-essential cookies through your browser settings or via any cookie consent banner shown on our site. Disabling essential cookies may affect features such as the shopping cart.

6. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We may share it with:
Wix.com, our website and e-commerce platform provider, which hosts our site and shop.
Payment processors (such as Wix Payments, PayPal, or Stripe) to process transactions securely.
Delivery/courier services, to fulfil UK deliveries of physical products.
Professional advisors (e.g. accountants), where necessary for our legal obligations.
Law enforcement or regulators, where required by law.
Each of these third parties processes data under their own privacy policies and applicable data protection obligations.
7. International Transfers
Some of our service providers (such as Wix and certain payment processors) may process data outside the UK. Where this happens, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent protections recognised under UK data protection law.

8. Data Retention
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for thepurposes described in this policy — for example, order and booking records are typically kept for as long as required for accounting and tax purposes (usually up to 6 years), after which they are securely deleted or anonymised.

9. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.

  • Request correction of inaccurate data.

  • Request deletion of your data, where applicable.

  • Object to or restrict certain processing.

  • Request a copy of your data in a portable format.

  • Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details below. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you believe your data has been mishandled.

10. Contact Us
